jammu, Oct 5 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tuesday blamed the Omar Abdullah government for the turmoil in the Kashmir Valley and wondered at the 'incompetence' of the chief minister for trying to shift the blame onto the armed forces.
Launching an attack on the 21-month-old National Conference-Congress coalition government, BJP legislature party leader Chaman Lal Gupta Tuesday in a statement said that the state government was responsible for the mess in which Kashmir sees itself today.
Gupta wondered how the 'situation that was a mere law and order problem in Kashmir was being blamed on the security forces'.
'It is the incompetence of the chief minister who, instead of tackling the situation, started blaming the army and other wings of the security forces for the situation.'
'It is really unfortunate,' Gupta said and also regretted the loss of life and property in the valley over the past four months.
The valley has seen 109 civilian deaths, mostly in firing by security forces, during street clashes that began June 11 after renewed unrest surged.
